High-speed carving isn’t exactly like racing, and the new RC4 The Curv aren’t exactly race boots. But they’re pretty darn close. To get the most from this design, it pays to get one of the Vacuum Full Fit models (140, 120 or 110 flex), but if the tariff is too steep, the non-Vacuum Curv 130 is a capable substitute at a value price. All the Curvs fit better out of the box than narrow Fischers of yore for three principal reasons: Active Fit Zones in the liner provide more accurate contouring, the liner and shell are precisely matched, a feature Fischer calls Connected Fit, and the toe box is higher and rounder so toes don’t have to fight with each other for space.

High performance skiing is simply not possible without a precise fit, and Vacuum Fit’s ability to expand or contract both the rear foot and forefoot by 3mm brings the shell as close or closer to the skier as any technology extant.
