Rossignol added an extra dose of damping to the lay-up of its flagship women’s Technical model, the Famous 10, but not enough to radically alter the model. Consider it improved, but not necessarily new. The deep-dish shape that makes it eager to enter the top of the turn remains intact; in fact, the added dab of elastomer in the forebody is the only alteration to what was already a popular, powerful carver.
While it’s always sketchy to over-analyze data drawn from a small sample, perfect scores are hard to ignore. The 2019 Famous 10 earned 10’s across the board for Short-Radius Turning and nearly did the same for being Early to the Edge. If you’re a slalom-turn devotee who doesn’t want to sling around the heft of a race ski, the Famous 10 is a potential life partner. Jolee from Footloose aptly hails it as “great for ripping on frontside groomers. Co-worker Nadine concurs, citing the Famous 10 as “very responsive. A fun ski that turns easily and is great for small turns.”
