As a member of Rossi’s legendary 7 series, the Sky 7 has received every upgrade, including Carbon Alloy Matrix and Air Tip 2.0, that have made its bigger brothers, the Soul 7 HD and Super 7 HD, perpetual benchmarks in their respective categories. Since its inception, the 7 series has prioritized off-trail performance, so it’s natural for its design to shine brightest in its wider iterations. As an all-condition ski, the Sky 7 HD comes up short on the hard-snow side of the all-mountain equation. Its relatively short platform underfoot facilitates sidewards drift in off-trail conditions but limits the amount of edge contact on groomers.

As an introduction to off-trail skiing for the lighter weight Finesse skier, the Sky 7 HD has its merits. Its lightweight and easy to maneuver in soft snow. Power skiers are likely to push it beyond its limits and technical skiers will want more carve and less drift.
