Dynastar doesn’t distill its women’s Legend W models from its men’s Legend X’s; they’re the same skis. It’s meant as no disservice to the men’s series that the women’s might be even better suited to its gender, for the Legends all begin as lightweight skis with a Finesse flavor. We didn’t collect much feedback on the Legend W’s last test season due to god-awful weather that canceled key events, so we’ve chosen the Legend W 88 to represent the series in absentia.

We’ve focused on the Legend W 88 because the All-Mountain East genre is where women ought to be looking for their next do-it-all ski. The Legend W 88 has a lot to recommend it as a utility tool. It has the metal laminates needed to crush crud and cling to ice, a short wheelbase that pivots quickly married to a damping system (Powerdrive) that calms the forebody at speed. Put all these elements together and you have an all-terrain tool with the accent on off-piste conditions.

Women’s Test Data Advisory

Please be advised that our 2022 women’s ski reviews do not show any test data, on either our public or members’ sites. Due to circumstances beyond our control, we haven’t been able to collect sufficient test results to justify showing a statistical summary.

While Realskiers members won’t be able to see stats on women’s reviews, they will see a longer, more in-depth narrative than what’s posted on our public site.

We appreciate your continued support through these troublesome times.
