The Strong Instinct Ti is lightweight (1912g @ 170cm), strong (Graphene and Titanal sandwich its synthetic core), maneuverable (14.2m sidecut radius) and a terrific value (usually $599 with binding). It won’t meet the expectations of an aggressive expert, but that shouldn’t concern the less skilled skier who isn’t about to break the speed record. It’s a perfect ski for a young adult getting his first ski that isn’t a hand-me-down, or the middle-aged skier who hasn’t renewed his equipment in several years and is ready for something shorter, lighter and generally easier to ski.
For skiers still assembling their skill set, the Strong Instinct Ti has just the right attributes. It’s highest test scores are for stability at speed and forgiveness/ease, a combination that builds confidence in skiers who could use a little encouragement.
