One way to encapsulate the i.Titan’s personality is as “combi carver,” a ski with the stability at speed of a GS race ski and the quick reflexes of a slalom. It would take an avalanche to knock it off edge yet it can make serpentine S’s in an unending spool.   What we wrote about the i.Titan last season still pertains: “This is what a perfectly balanced ski is all about, absolute power with fingertip control. It’s exhilarating to let the i.Titan run, leaning into the belly of big, bodacious arcs, feeling as carefree as riding first class.”

The widest tip in the genre is connected to the most active rear suspension in its class via an 80mm waist. This creates a ski that wants to pull into the top of the turn like it was being sucked in by a whirlpool and shoot out the bottom like its Graphene fibers were on fire. The i.Titan’s 80mm waist is the widest of Head’s Supershapes, but it doesn’t feel wide on the snow. It feels slinky, quick edge to edge and never, ever nervous.

We have Scott from Realskiers Test Center Aspen Ski and Board to thank for this lengthy exegesis of the i.Titan’s strengths: “A carver’s dream machine, the Head Supershape i.Titan is a force to be reckoned with. The ski utilizes Head’s proprietary Graphene, a lightweight tensile strengthening material, under the binding for maximum stability/finesse balance. This let’s the skier exert more energy all day with less effort. The exaggerated sidecut of the ski enables the skier to perform an array of short to long radius turns outside Head’s specifications. No other ski in this class offers the amount of rebound this ski provides out of every loaded turn. Hold on tight!”
