Here’s what to like about the Pro Mountain 95 Ti: everything the Ranger series removes, like high, square sidewalls for more accurate energy transmission and full length sheets of Titanal that keep the Pro Mountain 95 Ti quiet along most of its length, not just underfoot. The sloped sidewalls of Razorshape, a double rockered baseline and Air Tec Ti core provide pivot-ability in off-trail chunder, but it’s the Titanal that gives the Pro Mountain 95 Ti the power to batter its way straight downhill should the need arise.

While the lightweight tip feels loose on groomers, otherwise the Pro Mountain 95 Ti feels like Mr. Natural, as ski you can just get on and go. Because it’s not too torsionally rigid, it’s able to follow terrain like a serpent, just holding its head off the surface but otherwise all about connectivity. Skiing it in Gremlin’s Gulch at Mammoth, chasing Corty Lawrence on his home court, the Pro Mountain 95 Ti rolls sublimely edge to edge in a staccato suite of short turns as if it’s 18m sidecut radius suddenly shrank to 14m, without a shimmy or shake.
