The Q-85 carries the freeride-flavored Quest line as far down the line as it’s likely to go. The Q-85 can’t compete with souped up Frontside skis on groomed runs, but it should be in its element in about a foot of fresh on a 30-degree pitch with a few trees sprinkled in for fun. A great ski for the intermediate ready to break the bonds of prepared slopes or the adolescent who’s earned his first new pair of skis, the Q-85 acquits itself well enough in all venues to be a one-ski quiver for the skier whose ambitions exceed his budget.
