Twenty-five years ago Salomon set the ski world on its ear with the launch of their first monocoque ski line. It remains a notable event for two main reasons: the brand would soon set about the business of multiplying the number of expert skier types, beginning a trend towards more high-priced ski categories; and cap skis became a permanent part of the ski design landscape.
In 2013 Salomon took advantage of the concept to create the economically priced Quest line. The cost/value leader in this category, the Quest 90, is a tractable performer in a go-anywhere footprint. It changes direction at the slightest suggestion and rolls over uneven terrain like an ATV. High-speed chargers will want more power under the hood, but if you’re just out for a good time without applying for a second mortgage, the Quest 90 is your best bet.
