[mepr-hide if="rule: 3745"]The deeper the freshies or the heavier the slop, the brighter the Rustler 11 shines. Feeding it crud is like giving it oxygen. The tip that’s busy looking for something to do on groomers is in its element, rolling up and over wind berms and generally conforming to whatever it meets. The solidity underfoot breeds confidence and the tail is supportive when it needs to be. “A big mountain charger,” assesses Lucas from Footloose. “Surprisingly playful for its size, it’s a confidence booster.” [/mepr-hide]

The Blizzard Rustler 11 is the antithesis of a Technical ski. The hard snow the latter loves to bite into gives the Rustler 11’s tip the heebie-jeebies, while the slop that utterly unhinges a Tech ski is the Rustler 11’s idea of Nirvana. The key to the Rustler 11’s off-trail prowess is the way the extremities, and in particular the forebody, contort to adapt to wildly irregular terrain. Serenity throughout the rest of the ski is maintained by a sheet of Titanal that’s edge-to-edge through the midsection, tapering to a blunt end. Carbon inserts calm the tip and tail without constraining their torsional pliability.

The Rustler 11 is so good at everything that’s asked of it off-trail, one is tempted to adopt it as an everyday ride. If all you ski is pow, that’s not such a bad idea.
