It’s natural to compare the new to what we know, so we view the new Scale models through the prism of the Laser AX, a speed-eating, terrain-crushing machine with little patience for mincing steps. Against this backdrop, the Scale Delta looks as fierce as a flower arrangement. It actually won’t bend under the weight of a buttercup, but it’s certainly more responsive to gentle force at less-than-rocket speed than any Laser. Paul from Cal Ski Co pegged it, “the playful Stöckli,” an adjective rarely applied to the Swiss brand, with a “great combo of delicacy and power.” The Delta’s greater sensitivity to light pressure makes it “a good ski for an intermediate to expert skier that stays on groomers most of the time,” in the words of one of our veteran testers.
